Making SWEET Music

After one year together, Cali my gf deserves an award. I imagine i am the most difficult person in history to deal with and I definitely have the mind of all my tragically flawed musical heroes... but that comes with the territory. She has been endlessly supportive and made me a candy guitar for our 1 year anniversary!  She also got me s replacement astronaut guitar tshirt featured in a previous post due to me ruining it in a laundry related incident hahah.  We had a great night celebrating and can't wait for the inspiring adventures to continue even more in year two!  Look for an acoustic new song coming out on here that came to me yesterday :) Going back to keep cleaning and rearranging. Time to make the donuts

And by donuts, I mean music! Happy Monday everyone!  Thank you for taking time from your day today. Work is in the bag and now time for fun. That first starts with a trip to Philz for premiumly flavored and priced coffee. Tonight I have plans to work out with Cali, hopefully sell my red futon, work on a few projects, and get ready for this weekend!  I didn't get to post on record store day but I was pleasantly surprised to find a limited release of Dennis Wilson's list album "Bambu".  I love the emerald green and swirled black translucent vinyl and the pictures really make it feel like a release. I have been thinking of the music I wrote before and during my move west. I love those songs and

If you don't know where you're going

"Any road will take you there" -the great George Harrison. Well hello, all!  Been rearranging my living quarters in LA in hopes of mental clarity and music accessibility. I've concluded paying more in rent is not the right thing to do, but working with what you have. So... major overhaul time... but I already feel better and it will only advance from here. Been practicing guitar a lot and hopefully I can free space to bring Cali's keyboard in my place to practice more often and record. Weather has catapulted into summer here, but it's been nice to embrace it rather than cower away.  We've set a goal to visit a beach once a week, preferably a new one.  It's important to revisit that freedom t

Crazy nurses

Had a crazy day at work. Crazy news day today domestically and internationally. And what's worse?  Went to TWO Starbucks and they ran out of the illustrious Unicorn Frappaccino!! What is this world coming to?!? In other news lol... can't make my commercial audition tmrw because of work. My landlord and friends and brother have all bought new houses. I'm killing nyself trying to buy a Full-sized day bed from Ikea. Womp womp haha Choices we make. Most of those who make it say they had given up on hope and themselves a hundred times before- and were ready to officially call it quits for real.  And then it happened. You never know. In this life full of surprises, tomorrow could be the day your s

April showers

Seems like yesterday I was sooooo psyched for my upcoming trip back home!  Annddd wham, here I am back in LA after a week of work. Time flies when you throw a clock! I was very fortunate to have had the BEST trip home and 31st birthday EVER.  I got a new stage microphone, live tube pre-amp, and a rack mount for the studio. Also, me and my dad got to finish the Edison lights hanging and I can't get over this perfect room. It is my favorite place in the world- tied with Fusco Theater and the beach and back yard, of course. I think the best part of it is I travel and often have writers block of life-block... I'm not the type to sit and force stuff out. However, I can't remember a single time in

Live at the Covina Farmer's Market in Covina, CA, I gave a two+ hour chilling performance for shoppers, crafters, and cookers alike.  Of course, the chilling was more due to Mother Nature (around 50 degrees the whole outdoor, night time set!), but I'd be willing to wager some goosebumps were provided by my awesomeness.  And I had to be awesome... I promised I'd rock like it's the end of the world.

My first real concert, played at the world famous Whisky A Go Go in the heart of Hollywood.  I rocked an acoustic 45 minute set, playing songs old and new, with percussion help from those in the crowd who cheered on

The final nail is hammered into place by my father, completing a 2+ year effort to finish my home recording studio.  Located in the woods of beautiful Wallingford, CT (my home town!), it rests dormant until I get back to record.  I have just left my home of 26 years to pursue an unplanned adventure across th country, making good on a self-promise to someday move to California.  Shed Zeppelin (Also named Studio Fifty-Fusc, flatFLAT, Wallywood, Feel-Like-Makin-Loft Studios, and Bowl of Studi'Os) was completed the very day I left...Breaking my streak of never finishing anything.  It still remains my absolute favorite place on the planet.
