Reflective...

Hey everyone... I've had a very sad but reflective weekend. The untimely and confusing passing of Cali's cousin has been very tough on everyone... But in this case, it's a time we can stop, breathe extra deep, love extra hard, and live twice as much as before to truly appreciate what we have. I am really looking forward to going home, especially to see my mom and family/friends, so I'll be buying my ticket east soon for the late summer/early fall. I understandably haven't gotten to do as much work as originally planned with my weekend, but I have written to a few gigs that I'm waiting to hear back from. I'll write when I can, the week will be tough but I'll do my best to get on here and keep working at what I love. Prayers to all out there... stop and smell the flowers today, feel the hot sun, look up at the stars, and smile/laugh and appreciate those around you... even the things they do that may drive you crazy sometimes haha... it's them. There is no one like them. So love them while they are here so you can carry and remember them long after they are gone. There's not a day that goes by that I don't think about both my Grandma and my Nonnie... they were absolutely two angels. I remember every little thing about them and I carry them with me. I hope Cali can do the same. Rest in peace, Patrick. ~mdf
